Each year the Woman's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) sponsors contests
in elementary, secondary (K - 12) and at the college or university level.
In the Essay Contest,
the WCTU offered students an opportunity to research the subjects of
alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs with emphasis on total abstinence.
Awards are granted to the winners ranging from $5 to $500!

Barstow College, Fullerton College, Glendale Community College & Moreno Valley College.
First place was Moreno Valley College (2nd from right),
who will also be competing at NWCTU in August.
